Walkthrough
Step by step
- 01
Create the consumable identity
Add the item name, stock unit and optional SKU/category. Choose the unit carefully: it can change before the first movement but is locked once stock history exists. The item begins at zero; creating it does not create a purchase, Expense, Supplier or accounting entry.
- 02
Create operational locations
Add the stockroom, warehouse, vehicle or other place that physically holds consumables. A location cannot be archived while it has stock or an active reorder rule.
- 03
Record one explicit movement
Receive, consume, return, transfer, stocktake or adjust. Nenvik locks the exact item and locations, derives signed entries and rejects any result below zero.
- 04
Attach Job evidence only when relevant
Consume and return may reference one exact active Job. This is operational evidence only and does not post a Job cost or change the Field Worker material log.
- 05
Set a visible reorder threshold
Configure a non-negative threshold for an item/location pair. The threshold shows low-stock evidence. A separate authorised replenishment policy can turn that evidence into an explainable suggestion, but never sends or approves an order.
- 06
Use stocktake and adjustment carefully
Both require a reason. A stocktake records the counted balance and its exact delta; an adjustment records a signed correction. Neither rewrites earlier movements.
Troubleshooting
If something does not look right
A movement would not save.
Reload the item, confirm the latest version and active location, and check that the requested consume, transfer or negative adjustment would not make the location balance negative. If the message includes a MUT support reference, keep that code when contacting support; it identifies the failed attempt without exposing business data or technical details.
An item or location cannot be archived.
Return or transfer its remaining stock to zero and remove every active reorder rule before retrying.
A Field Worker material entry did not change Inventory.
That is intentional in this release. Assignment material evidence and the stock movement history are separate; record an authorised Inventory consume movement explicitly.
Low stock did not send a message.
That is intentional. A reorder threshold alone is visible evidence. An authorised office user may add a replenishment policy and run an evaluation, but every conversion remains a human action and no supplier transmission is enabled.
